Get Vaccinated with the latest Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine

In a recent announcement (Oct 2023), the Ministry of Health has released important updates regarding the COVID-19 vaccination program in Singapore. The Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty and Moderna/Spikevax vaccines will be upgraded to their latest versions based on the Omicron XBB.1.5 variant.

Who is it suitable for?

The updated XBB.1.5 vaccines of both Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty and Moderna/Spikevax are suitable for individuals aged 6 months and above. They will be available to the public in stages, starting with the updated Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty XBB.1.5 vaccine for individuals aged 5 years and above from October 30, 2023.

This is free for Singapore citizens, PRs and permit holders.

When Should You Get It?

Persons aged 5 years and above are recommended to receive a booster dose about five months after completing their primary series. Additionally, individuals aged 60 years and above, medically vulnerable individuals, and residents of aged care facilities are advised to receive an additional dose in 2023/2024, around 1 year (and no earlier than 5 months) after their last dose.

Why Should You Get It?

Scientific data shows that the updated XBB.1.5 vaccines generate higher antibody titres against current and emerging strains, offering better protection against newer strains of COVID-19. This ensures that individuals, particularly those at risk of severe disease, have an enhanced level of protection.
